Programs

Intro to Robotics -
This course has been designed to:
  * introduce students to the language and the theory behind electronics in a safe, hands-on way
  * show students a fun and useful application for their math skills
  * Introduce students to basic hand tools and the testing equipment used in electronics and robotics

This class is a truly unique experience. It is designed to take absolute beginners and show them how to build a robot from scratch. They drill the platform. They add the wires. They place the components in the breadboard. Along the way they learn about the function that each component plays in the final operation of the robot. At the end of class, they have built every aspect of a fully-functioning light-seeking robot, complete with light sensors. And best of all, the robot is THEIRS TO KEEP!

Intro to Video Game Design -
 This course has been designed to:
  * introduce students to the theory behind computer programming in a hands-on way
  * show students a fun and useful application for their math skills
  * provide students a direct path to designing their own interactive virtual 3D world

Intro to Electronics -
This course has been designed to:
  * Introduce students to the theory behind electronics in a safe, hands-on way
  * teach students about the basic components that are inside modern electronic devices
  * give students experience using professional equipment

Sample projects include:
  * automatic night-light
  * a basic burglar alarm
                                    * a touch switch (touch it and the light comes on)

No previous experience is required. Each class will be a combination of explanation/theory and hands-on work with electronic components. Students will build circuits on breadboards, and they will learn how to interpret a schematic drawing into a working project.
