Who We Are

The TechnoBuddha conference is an annual conference hosted by the Center for Buddhist Education for people between the ages of 21-39.

The conference aims to provide an opportunity for young professionals to find a community of like-minded individuals and introduce Jodo Shinshu Buddhism to those who are interested in learning.

Theme of TechnoBuddha 2020:

Vision 2020!

Over the course of the weekend, we’ll be addressing the theme of this year, “Vision 2020,” as we seek to address how our ideals are informed by Buddhist teachings amid various social issues.

Hosted by keynote BCA President Richard Stambul, we'll engage in lively conversation as well as enjoying great food, and participating a range of workshops to choose from.

Workshops session will be available with esteemed professors, reverends, and workshop leaders, ranging from topics such as:

  • Social activism and BCA
  • Social Justice x Mindfulness in the Individual / Community

The Venue

The 13th Annual TechnoBuddha Conference takes place at the Jodo Shinshu Center (JSC) in Berkeley, CA. Conveniently located near Downtown Berkeley BART.

Humble Beginnings

TechnoBuddha was the theme of the first year's conference in 2007 for people who are "grown but not necessarily grown-up," and are interested in Buddhism. The theme was TechnoBuddha because we wanted to focus in on how our generation's experience with technology may affect our experience with Jodo Shinshu Buddhism.

What to Expect

Tasty meals from dinner Friday night through Sunday morning , Saturday full of sessions and socializing, new experiences, and meeting new people.
