Humanitarian Funding

In the aftermath of a disaster it is crucial to understand the best way to access funding. This module helps to answer the following questions:

  • What types of funding are available?

  • When is each type of funding suitable?

  • How can you access the funding?

  • What critical processes do you need to be aware of and follow to ensure that you can access the funding and spend the money according to donor requirements?

  • How do you decide which funding to go for in a particular situation?

The module focuses on funding streams that are relatively quickly available in the aftermath of a disaster:

  • Start Fund

  • Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC)

  • Tearfund’s Crisis Response Fund (CRF)

  • Jersey

  • DFID Rapid Response Facility (RRF)
