5 Clue Challenge
Has your child told you about their 5 Clue Challenge video assignment yet? This is a great project to work on as a family over the break if you have an internet ready device that will record video. If not students can complete it at school next week.

Pi
On March 14 (3.14) we are going to learn about mathematical Pi. We will be doing Pi activities throughout the day. At the end of the day we would like to eat pie. This is where we need help. We will need pies, plates, and forks (I have lots of napkins). The pies don’t need to be homemade, just round. We have over 50 students so we will need 7-8 pies. There will be a signup sheet in the classroom by the end of the week. Please let your child know what you can contribute. We look forward to learning about Pi and eating pie.

Presentations Due Monday
Students have been working on their final projects for our mixtures and solutions unit. Students should be ready to present on Monday, April 18th.

Chemistry Unit
We have started our Chemistry Unit in science. Last week we discussed lab rules and how important it is to follow during this unit. This week students are making mixtures and solutions and separating them.

End of Quarter November 11th
All assignments and corrections are due November 11th for the first quarter. Students must have earned at least one point by passing an AR quiz by this date as well. Class goals for typing badges are as follows: A=7 or more, B=6-5, C=4-3, D=2-1, F=0 Student are making fantastic progress with their typing skills! Keep up the great work! The end of the quarter award assembly will be November 19th at 2:30 in the auditorium. Conferences are Nov. 19th from 4-7 and Nov. 20th from 9-noon. I look forward to meeting with parents and students then.
