Drawing on Smith's 1776 book, An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations, construct an essay that takes Smith's thoughts and extrapolates them to a current or recent episode in history, OR a current Canadian policy issue. While constructing your essay, you may choose to consider one of the following: 1) What would Adam Smith say about the state of markets today? What would he change? 2) Would Smith agree or disagree with the recent rise of protectionism? 3) What would Adam Smith think about trade tariffs? 4) How would Smith explain why some nations are poor while others are rich? 5) What would Smith say about the future of automation in the workplace? 6) Consider a current Canadian policy issue (e.g. minimum wage, consumer regulations, etc.) and discuss what Smith would think about it. Would he agree or disagree with this policy?

The partners brought together $263 million in resources and began working with governors to build an infrastructure of states to scale across the United States. The first year, ten states participated. And we have added states every year. Every teacher that participates in the RWDC gets $1 million in professional engineering software along with training, curriculum materials, and access to mentors. Teams of 3-7 high school students use these resources to solve an engineering challenge that is currently faced by industry. Students first compete in a state level Governor's Cup. The team with the best design is invited to Washington, DC to compete in the national finals. The Challenges have all been focused on the aerospace industry so far, but as the RWDC grows, we will add other content areas as well. We are constantly looking for new partner organizations, states, and school teams to participate.

No - we accept rolling applications and review them as they come in. If you're working on something cool, apply now. Do I need a pitch deck to apply? No, but it helps. A short deck or prospectus is a great way to state clearly and concisely what you're working on. What is the age limit to apply? Everyone aged 22 or younger is eligible to apply. Do I need to have a company or is an idea enough? You don't need to have incorporated a company or built a full product yet, but at a minimum you'll need to demonstrate meaningful progress toward an interesting concrete vision.
