Oh boy! I have been trying out more sites for Hour of Code fun! There are so many options! Truly this is not just for Science teachersJ If you scroll to the bottom link, Google CS First even has coding for: MUSIC AND SOUND, STORYTELLING, GAME DESIGN, AND FASHION & DESIGN!!! You do not have to sign up to do this. Remember Hour of Code is the week of December 4-10, but you can introduce your students to the love of coding any time! Want to learn more? Above are three great “courses” that are self-paced. Students could start with the first and skip through as they get the hang of it. Some might need to do every lesson. Others might jump to harder ones as they become more familiar with coding.

This one comes with a nice introductory video and the students get to create their own version of Flappy Bird. Might really interest many kids.

Even Khan Academy has joined forces. This link is a tutorial for an Hour of Drawing with coding! If students create an account they can keep track of their progress and ‘earn points’ along the way.
