The philosophy of the elementary physical education department is well represented in its mission statement.
Our goal is to help students acquire the means to lead a healthy, active lifestyle. Our curriculum is designed to ensure that all students can be successful. Every child benefits from the development of motor skills, physical fitness, cognitive skills and personal/social character training. We want students to develop life-long habits of fitness and health. We are creating a learning environment that fosters growth, enjoyment, and success during physical education for all students.
Our current physical education curriculum (adopted in 1999) was written to reflect Michigan Fitness Foundation objectives and is aligned with both state and national standards.
