Welcome to Traditions of Music, an ethno-musicological investigation
from Indiana to India. We’ll be starting off with bluegrass music
here in Indiana,
particularly that of Bill Monroe. Then
we’ll be tracing it back to Old Time music across the country, and the roots of
that music in both Europe and Africa. Finally, we'll
explore the musics that influenced both Europe and Africa, particularly
music from the Middle-East, Persia, and India. We’ll be having weekly
guest performances by
musicians from all over the world as we explore their diverse musics.
