Important Google Camp Reminders

  • BYOD: Bring your own charged device!  It’s strongly recommended that bring your own laptop, fully charged, for the day.  Since the event is all about Google, you should have Chrome installed on whatever device you bring

  • Please note: Tablets and iPads do not provide the full range of Google Apps functionality & we strongly recommend working with a laptop or Chrome Book on this day

  • Parking is very limited, so please make use of TTC or carpooling

  • There is no pre-registration for sessions.  All session details (and room numbers) are listed under Session Descriptions & Presenters. You can attend whatever sessions suit your interests.  We encourage you to consider your session choices and note the classroom numbers

  • All of the sessions are divided into two categories: Create and Inspire.  Create sessions are essentially “how-to” sessions, such as how to create a Doc or a Form.  Inspire sessions look at ways to connect Apps to teaching strategies, different contexts, or innovative uses.

Welcome to Camp!

The Toronto District School Board is a Google Apps for Education district. Google Apps are a suite of collaborative online tools that include Google Docs, Google Forms, Google Presentations, Google Spreadsheets that are available to every staff and student in the TDSB.

To help teachers and administrators experience the potential of this collaborative suite of tools, we are excited to host the first ever TDSB Google Camp.

The goals of the TDSB Google Camp are to:
  • Raise awareness of the district-wide availability of Google Apps for Education
  • Experience and share potential uses of Google Apps for Education to support teaching and learning
  • Build a strong network of TDSB educators using Google Apps for Education across the TDSB

Important! Equipment Requirements

In order to ensure a full and satisfactory experience at the TDSB Google Camp, it is strongly recommended that you:

  • bring a fully charged laptop (MacBook or PC) or ChromeBook
  • have Google Chrome installed on your device

  • Many of the sessions are "hands on" and all presenters will be sharing materials with you - and so you will want to be fully connected on this day!
While tablets (i.e. iPads) do work with Google Apps, they do not work with the same functionality. You may not be able to participate fully in the sessions if you are working with your Tablet/iPad. Our presenters will be speaking to the full laptop/ChromeBook functionality of Google Apps.
