EMIL MAYER

Emil Mayer was a man, a parent, who wanted to help Taylorville sports become the best it could be. He volunteered his time and his back. Mayer was instrumental helping organize and ensure that the Junior Football Program was a success. From its beginning, he made sure equipment was safe and prepared for all boys who wanted to play.

He did much of the “behind the scenes” work necessary for any program to be successful. When the football program needed a new press box, Mayer built it. He laid the block; he saw the job to completion.

During the summers he coached Little League. Emil Mayer was a friend to all sports and all boys and girls who participated in high school athletics at Taylorville High School. He set a standard for being a true friend of Sports.
