Following graduation, Brown received a full scholarship to play basketball at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. While at Centenary, Brown not only lettered in basketball, but also earned a letter playing on the football team. Following his junior year at Centenary, Brown joined the U.S. Marine Corp.
