TCAPS SAT Resources 2016-17

In January 2015, The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) announced that the College Board's SAT test would be the next state college entrance assessment for at least three years beginning in the Spring of 2016. This newly overhauled SAT will replace the ACT test that Michigan 11th graders have taken since 2007. SAT & PSAT are made by The College Board; which is the same company that produces all Advanced Placement exams.

The new SAT includes many positive changes and opportunities for Traverse City students. This site is meant to provide information and ease the transition for students and families from ACT to SAT.

  • The 'College Test Prep' course offered at Central & West is aligned with the new SAT and will utilize the Khan Academy platform. College Test Prep is an 11th grade elective available during Quarter 2 or Quarter 3. Students should see their counselor if interested in the College Test Prep course.
