After paying your admission deposit you will receive a notification to activate your UNI (University Network ID) at http://uni.columbia.edu. Follow the step-by-step instructions on the screen and choose a password. Then go to myTC at mytc.tc.edu and log in using your UNI and newly created password. Click on the Gmail icon at the top right of the portal to begin the activation process.
Your TC Gmail address (UNI@tc.columbia.edu) is the email address used for all TC communication.
Newly admitted students who do not register for courses will be dropped from TC Gmail a month after the beginning of the semester.
NOTE: The college discourages forwarding TC Gmail to a personal Gmail, Yahoo etc accounts. TC Gmail is protected, other personal email account may not.
Graduates will keep their TC Gmail account indefinitely.
Students who stop enrolling for classes without graduating keep their TC Gmail accounts for one year after the end of the last semester for which they were registered. They will lose Dodge Fitness Center, Library resources and other card access.
Alumni will be allowed to keep their TC Gmail accounts indefinitely.
Faculty and Instructors:
All new employees must sign the Access to Information form and submit it to HR to get network and account privileges at TC and Columbia. Faculty and staff have new TC Gmail which include the following aliases:
Email sent to any of these addresses goes to their TC Gmail.
