DISHA (Development in South Asia), which means 'direction' in Hindi, is a TeachersCollege-based student organization that provides an active platform for discussion on South Asian educational practices, policy, and research. We work to promote dialogue and discussion among students, researchers, educators, and activists in thefield. DISHA’s vision is to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects that target development issues in the region. It envisions ways to become a base for exchanging ideas and working together with the NGO’s and governments’to fill the existing gaps in research, policy and practice. DISHA is also dedicated to collaborating with and promoting awareness and advocacy for issues concerning the South Asian Diaspora.
