"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediateway in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being."
Drama is committed to provide, in a supportive environment, creative and academic training of the highest standard, offering all pupils a positive learning experience and varied, exciting performance opportunities. Drama students will be given the opportunity to watch and learn from peers through varied and challenging performances both in school and from visiting touring theatre companies.
Drama at TBS is taught from our new Drama Studio, the subject continues to grow in strength and achievement every year.
As part of the whole school curriculum, pupils will be provided with a rich and diverse experience of historical, cultural and practical aspects of the art form of drama. The breadth and balance of the Drama curriculum will ensure that pupils are taught how to create, perform and respond to Drama by working in a stimulating and highly challengingenvironment. They will be shown how the knowledge and skills addressed indrama are relevant to adult life in our society and how to communicate their opinions and beliefs and collaborate with others in creative and effective ways.
Extra curricular activities are at the core of the drama experience and offer an essential opportunity for pupils to further their experience in creating, performing and responding to theatre both as a participant and as an audience member.
