The TBLC digital download site is an early example of what libraries can become. Hard copy books, CD's, and DVD's aren't going to vanish overnight, but it's already clear that downloading music and movies is a common practice. Downloadable audiobooks are the current stage of evolution that began with books on vinyl records and books on tape. And in many ways, a downloadable eBook is just a long email attachment with a nice cover.
The process is still going on. What we have now will seem primitive and clunky in a few years. So, jump on now! The ride is just beginning.
This is the "How to" page. If you need step-by-step instructions, you're in the right place.
CAUTION!! These cheat sheets worked when I wrote them, but changes to hardware, software, and firmware can make any of them obsolete in a heartbeat.
Use caution as you follow them, and be willing to improvise or even bail out, if the changes are too great.

In order to read an EPUB format e-book from OverDrive on your e-ink Nook, Kobo, or Sony Reader, you will—in most cases—have to download it to your PC first, then “sideload” it to your e-reader. This cheat sheet tells you how to do that. It assumes that you have already loaded Adobe Digital Editions on your PC, have gotten an Adobe ID, and have authorized your PC. We have a separate cheat sheet for those steps.
