turbotax.ca/download

Turbotax.ca/download you can download an application to your computer or use one of TurboTax's online filing products. You can download your software directly from TurboTax official sites if you still have the license code from the CD you purchased. You will need to decide which one to use. But before turbotax.ca/download procedure firstly be aware that the CD version is more fully-featured than the Online version.   

Windows CD/Download Products : All TurboTax personal products and TurboTax Business can be installed on a Windows computer. It is for turbotax.ca/download.

• Windows 8.1 or later 

• Specific Win OS: Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows 11

• RAM

• 2 GB or more recommended.

• Hard Disk Space

• 1 GB for TurboTax (plus up to 4.5 GB for Microsoft .NET 4.5.2 if not already installed)

• 1024x768 or higher recommended

• Third Party Software

• Microsoft .NET 4.5.2 (included with TurboTax Installer)

• 1 Mbps modem (Broadband connection highly recommended). Required for product activation, software updates and optional online 

• Any Windows-compatible inkjet or laser printer

• Administrative rights required.

1. First you must install using Administrator privilege.

2. You can now manually disconnect your device from the Internet so that you can safely disable/turn off your antivirus and firewall software programs.

3. Close any other open programs and open apps.

4. If installing from a turbotax.ca/download installation file, then you have to double-click the file to start the install process.

5. If installing from a CD, insert the CD in the CD Drive and the installation should launch. If it doesn't start installing automatically, then here's how to launch it:

   • Hold down the keys Windows + R keys to open the Run window.

   • Click on the Browse option, and navigate to the TurboTax CD on your CD/DVD/RW drive.

   • Double-click on the setup.exe file.

   • Click on the OK button to launch the installer.

6. After installing, be sure that you re-enable your antivirus and firewall programs before connecting  your device back up to the Internet.

7. Reboot/restart your device.

8. Open TurboTax software and run the updater software.

That's OK — you can download your software directly from turbotax.ca/download. But, keep in mind, you can't use both the CD and the download — you must use one or the other. Because the installation process will be done by two ways : First is inserting CD in the CD drive and second is when you enter the license code.
