Tena koutou katoa.... Welcome to Tangiteroria School
Tangiteroria School is situated in Northland, New Zealand, halfway between Whangarei and Dargaville. Tangiteroria is in the Kaipara district, is part of Te Parawhau hapu and Ngapuhi iwi. We are a decile 7 full-primary school. We were founded in 1886 and have over 130 years of rich history relating back to the early mission school history of the area.
Tangiteroria School offers a small, friendly learning environment for Year 1-8 students to learn and achieve. The school environment is surrounded by nature with its own native bush sanctuary and sustainable gardens. it continues to be of major significance to its small rural community, and as such, is actively supported by local families.

The sound of the trumpet.
Eel weirs were built on
the upper Wairoa River, and as the Maori paddled their
canoes (waka) up to them the force of the water was audible and was likened to
the sound of a conch shell being blown.
