Welcome to Holy Family!! Our class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. While we only meet three days a week, we manage to squeeze in a tremendous amount of activities: the students receive special 30-minute classes of Art, Music, Library, and Physical Education from NYS certified teachers. In our class, we follow NYS Core Curriculum Standards for ELA, Math, and Science with play based activities. Currently, for ELA we use the Happily Ever After Program, a precursor to the Superkids grade school program along with the Heggerty phonics program. I worked for many years in the public schools as a Special Education Teacher, and am so happy to spend some of my retirement here at Holy Family! My Bachelor's is from Geneseo, and I also have a Masters in Education from Oswego State University.
The students have supported playtime each day, during which creativity is encouraged. We have daily Morning Meetings, calendar time, fine and gross motor activities, and lots of play-doh!!! This month we are working on the letters P-S. Our themes for February are winter animals, Valentines, and Dental Awareness Month. Please contact us with any questions at 487-8515. |
