Holy Family School's Nursery School

News from Nursery

Welcome to Holy Family School's nursery page.

We have had a great start to our year and the students are settling in nicely. In September, we worked on our routines, getting used to walking in line, practicing how to sit on the rug during circle and other things that help our class be orderly. We also learned about apples. We talked about the different parts of the apple, they taste tested the three different colors of apples and picked which one they liked best and we made some delicious applesauce! We made projects about apples and even a math graph with our favorite kind. The class learned about Jonny Appleseed too.

In October, we concentrate on trees, pumpkins and Halloween. We have several crafts for each of these topics. I have many Halloween books to share with the children, as well. We will pick a pumpkin from our own "pumpkin patch" and decorate them with fun face stickers. We end our month, of course, with Halloween fun: a parade, games, a party and treats. It's a very busy month.

I hope you ask your child about their days and see what they remember. Even though they are young, they are sponges for knowledge and retain a lot of information. We learn a lot of different topics throughout the year, you will be amazed with what they learn. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email me at slindsley@syrdiocese.org.
