Seed Exchange

Seed Exchange

A seed exchange is a place to find seeds that you can use for your garden and to leave extra seeds that you don't need.

We have a seed exchange in The Hub.

Seeds are usually really easy to grow, if you would like help getting started, there is some great advice here. Or if you want to know when, where and how to plant seeds for specific vegetables, there is help here.

Who can use the Seed Exchange in The Hub?

Anyone in our learning community - students, teachers, whanau, locals - can take or contribute to the Seed Exchange.

What will I find in the Seed Exchange?

Hopefully you will find a variety of seeds for vegetables, flowers, herbs and other plants but this will be different every day depending on what has been taken and added.

How can I contribute to the Seed Exchange?

Just bring in any seeds that you have left over, either from a packet or from plants, and we will help you to split them into little envelopes. Each envelope will have a description attached explaining what the seeds are, and when they were contributed. If you haven't saved seeds from plants before, there is a guide here.

How can I take from the Seed Exchange?

Just come into The Hub and help yourself to the seeds you would like to plant. Please don't take more than you can use.
