Making a Difference

Last Saturday some members of the Parish Social Justice Group team banded together to raise money for the Baabayn Aboriginal Community of Mt Druitt. Marnie, Leah, Frances, Julia and Nikki baked up a storm making over 400 cupcakes to sell at the local Joeys v Shore Rugby game on Saturday 1st August. It was a great success raising over $500 which will go towards their new community centre. A special thank you to all our wonderful cupcake sellers – Sasha, Lelia and Matthew (Yr 4); Henry (Yr 3); Rose, Antonia and Bella (Yr 1) and Mollie and Zara (pre-schoolers).

Also, last week saw our first group of Kindy’s with their Yr 6 Buddy's visit our elderly community members at St Anne’s Nursing Home. This is a short recount of the visit from Eliza (Yr 6):
At St Anne’s we first sang a few songs from a DVD. Then we went around the nursing home, talking to the elderly and reading them the books we were given. After this we had morning tea and said goodbye.

Thank you for your support and generosity towards our Term 3 Crazy Hair and Sock Day Fundraiser. Congratulations to Year 4 students and families who organised some fantastic yummy treats and games for our special morning tea. Over $2000 was raised and will go to the Marist Missions.
