eSmart Learning

Last week we celebrated eSmart Bootcamp Week with cybersmart presentations being held in all of our classrooms. Each bootcamp delivered cybersmart messages to guide our students while they are using technology at school and also at home. Our new eSmart Ambassadors for 2016, our eSmarties, assisted teachers in the bootcamps, while also giving their own tips to the children for safe, smart and responsible behaviour when using technology.

We are also holding a Parent Information Evening on Thursday 16 June at 7:00pm. Our guest speaker will be, Leonie Smith, The Cyber Safety Lady, who is a cyber safety expert based in Sydney. Leonie believes that education and protection are the keys to staying safe online and that adults and children need to be educated about how their technology actually works, as well as understand how to keep themselves safe online. This can be achieved through behavioural changes and privacy & safety settings. These are important features we have identified and are components of our own eSmart philosophy. She believes that parents need to understand why their kids love technology and embrace it! Save the date for this important cybersmart event!
