Book Week 2016

What a scrumdiddlyumptious day we had at Villa on Friday 26th August - celebrating book week. The students were all dressed up as their favourite character in wonderful costumes. There was Blinky Bill, Alice in Wonderland cast, The Day the Crayons Quit, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Fancy Nancy and Where’s Wallies just to name a few. Many thanks to everyone for all the effort that went into making such fabulous costumes.

The students were lucky to have a fantastic presentation given to them by the famous Australian storyteller, writer and performer Monty Pryor. He had the students involved in Aboriginal storytelling and was very entertaining. A multi-talented performer and an articulate public speaker on Aboriginal issues, Monty has worked in numerous industries, including education, film, television, modelling, sport and music. He has played in two World Masters Games in basketball competition, winning a Silver Medal for Australia in 1994. Monty is also an accomplished didgeridoo player, which he gave a performance of during his presentation.
