About Us

Our School Prayer

Jesus you asked us to
'Love one another as I love you'.
Please help this love be evident
in all we say and do.
As we live and learn together and
as we work and pray,
May our love for you and others
grow stronger every day.
Amen

St Therese Catholic Primary School is a systemic school for boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6 in the Archdiocese of Sydney. The school and parish are committed to working in partnership with parents to nurture and challenge students as they grow in their Catholic faith and develop their potential.

Our School

St Therese Primary School values the rich history and traditions of the school and the charism of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. The school was opened in temporary accommodation in 1967 in response to the needs of a rapidly growing community. The permanent school was built and opened in 1970 under the leadership and care of the Parish Priest Fr Francis Muldoon, the founding Principal, Sr Betty McMahon, and four Sisters of the Sacred Heart.

In 1982 Fr Muldoon financed the completion of two more classrooms which allowed the entire school to operate on the present site. Fr Joe Higgins supported a major building and refurbishment project from 1999 to 2002. The school celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2007. The current parish administrator is Fr Paulino Tui, who came to the parish in 2008.

In 2009 under the 'Pride in our Schools' program refurbishment of the Special Needs facilities took place and a Covered Outdoor Learning Area was built. In 2010 air-conditioning was installed in all classrooms. Under the BER Project a new Multi-Purpose Hall, Reading Recovery/ESL room and Creative Arts room were built. In 2011 St Therese held an official Blessing and Opening of the new school facilities.

St Therese Primary School is a Crunch and Sip School

Crunch & Sip is a set break to eat fruit or salad vegetables and drink water in the classroom. Students re-fuel with fruit or vegetables during the morning, assisting physical and mental performance and concentration in the classroom.

Each day students bring fruit or salad vegetables to school to eat in the classroom at a set time. Each child is encouraged to bring a bottle of water in the classroom to drink throughout the day to prevent dehydration.
