School Community

Our Parish Priest, Fr Gary Rawson, is very supportive of the school and works in close partnership with the Principal and staff. He makes himself available to celebrate school liturgies and is a regular visitor to the school.

Parents are recognised as the first educators of their children and are encouraged to participate in all aspects of school life. In particular, they are welcomed at curriculum/information evenings, parent/teacher interviews and sacramental information evenings, and are consulted about matters pertaining to their children. There is a Parent and Community Group that supports the school.

We have a relationship with our local Catholic secondary school - Holy Spirit College Lakemba. Opportunities exist for high school children to visit our school to run various programs for our children and to share their learning. Our senior students will sometimes attend the college for special learning programs.

We have recently been very fortunate to receive funding from two of our local clubs, Canterbury Leagues Club and Canterbury/ Hurlstone Park RSL, which has been used to purchase iPads and an interactive whiteboard. Funds received this year will help to buy some new furnishings to update our library.

The school regularly participates in community competitions such as the Tony Burke Christmas card competition and Canterbury Council Art Competitions.
