About Us

Our School Prayer

Father in Heaven,
we thank you for the gift of life.
we thank you for our parents who love and care for us.
we thank you for our friends and teachers who share our days at school.
help us today to be more like
your Son Jesus as we
Search, Serve and Soar in faith.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
St Pius’ Catholic Primary School is located in Enmore, in the inner western suburbs of Sydney. The school is part of the Sydney Archdiocesan Catholic school system which is administered by the Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS). We currently have 176 students enrolled. Our school was established in 1907 by The Good Samaritan Sisters, Newtown.  Today we work in partnership with the Parish of Our Lady of the Southern Cross.

St Pius’ Catholic School has wide open spaces with a variety of play areas including an area for soccer, an adventure playground, a basketball court and handball courts. We also have a large assembly area which is used for community celebrations. In 2010, we built a wonderful multi-purpose hall and are refurbishing our learning spaces in line with contemporary learning principles.

St Pius’ Catholic School operates staged learning environments.  Kindergarten have their own classroom and then Year 1 and Year 2 students work together as Stage 1, in a large open learning space, with two teachers. Our Year 3 and Year 4 students work together as Stage 2 and our Year 5 and Year 6 students work together as Stage 3. We use our Specialist Teachers and Learning Support Teachers in the classrooms to lower our teacher/student ratios.

Staged learning environments enable us to focus on the child as learner and promote a climate of collaborative learning. We provide opportunities for individual and small group learning and encourage strong, high-quality relationships with teachers and peers.
