Year 6 has recently been exploring the impact of geological events, such as natural disasters, on the Earth’s surface. Throughout this process, we have been investigating the impact and devastation caused by cyclones, mainly flooding and erosion.

The students have been designing and producing a sea wall to prevent flooding and coastline erosion. The students then tested their designs in a wave tank to simulate a storm surge. The overall objective was to put together the best design that would let the least amount of water pass.
