ICT - Information and Communication Technology

Information and Communication Technology is an integral feature of learning at St Mark’s and plays a significant role in the students' development as learners in the 21st century.

In Years K-2 the children work with iPads. In Years 3-6 the children have access to dual platform devices, both laptops and iPads, that they can use for accessing digital resources and creating their own content. All students have access to Smartboard Technology and peripheral devices such as class cameras etc. Embedded in all the childrens' lessons are the requirements for digital citizenship.

We are developing the childrens' ICT skills through exposure to a wide range of technology. They use the Google Suite both on iPad and laptop and their Class blogs are created and updated using Kidblog and Blogger. Visual programming opportunities are available to them using apps like BeeBots, and apps for digital storytelling suitable for content creation are used in a variety of iPad and iTunes apps. With these facilities on offer, our children can become confident in the digital world as they utilise and develop their skills for use in the future.
