Principal's Message

Welcome to our school - St Mark’s Catholic Primary School. We are a Catholic co-educational systemic primary school located in the heart of Drummoyne.

As you journey through our website, I hope you experience a strong sense of collaboration, participation and community, which is inspired by our motto "Live the Gospel". Our primary focus is to nurture students and support them as they grow in their Catholic faith and develop their full potential as life-long learners. As a learning community,  St Mark’s is a place where our highly skilled and experienced staff ensure that teaching practices are responsive to the individual needs of all learners to ensure that all students have one year's growth or more for each year of schooling.

At St Mark’s we provide a range of educational programs and extra curricular experiences to support student centred learning which is intended to address different learning needs, interests, aspirations and cultural backgrounds of our students.  Classroom teaching programs also provide ongoing enrichment opportunities to extend and challenge gifted and talented students and as a result we have been accepted  into the Newman Gifted Education program for Sydney Catholic Schools.

A range of intervention and support programs are offered to students requiring additional assistance with their learning and or social/emotional needs. Some of these programs include Reading Recovery, Mini Lit, Multi Lit, Counselling, Quicksmart Maths and other lunch club activities.

The child is our focus and in order to to ensure that all students are in a safe and positive environment, we have implemented the Kidsmatter framework, a School Wide Positive Behaviour For Learning (SPBL) as well as the Buddy and Peer Support program.

Parents play a very active role in our school community, including volunteering in the classroom, on excursions and at sporting events. Our largest fundraising event for the school, our annual Easter School Fete, is due to the generosity, support and active participation by our parent community.

It is a privilege to share with the parents this special role of educating children in the many facets of education and faith development.

I invite you to learn more about our wonderful school by exploring our website.
