About Us

St Michael’s is a Catholic co-educational systemic school located in Daceyville and is an integral part of St Michael’s Parish. It draws the majority of its students from the Botany Bay Council area.

The school works closely with the Parish Priest and is noted for being a welcoming community.

Our vision for learning Success for All inspires students to be self- motivated and independent so that they can achieve their full potential.

The parents are highly involved and committed to supporting school initiatives. Parents help in the school by accompany classes on excursions, attend class and school masses and organise significant events including Mother’s and Father’s Day. Class parents provide support for families and opportunities for social events.

The school caters for students in Years K-6 and has a current enrolment of two hundred and four students. The enrolment trends show a steady, constant growth. Students attending this school come from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities. Fifty-five per cent come from non-English speaking backgrounds.

The school employs twenty-four staff comprising of sixteen teachers and eight non-teaching staff, the latter being employed in a variety of capacities including learning support and support staff.

St Michael’s School offers specialist programs that support and enhance learning. Programs offered include: Special Education, Reading Recovery and a Gifted and Talented Enrichment Program.

We have specialist teachers for Physical Education, Music and Visual Arts. The school also participates in Regional Cluster Sports, chess competitions and debating with our cluster schools.
