St Michael's have just been offered a grant from the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA) for initiatives to be planned for Science Week in August this year. Our grant of $500 will go towards a LEGO Space Activity Pack that will support the purchase of LEGO EV3 Robots to be used with Stage 3 during their FIRST LEGO League Challenge later in the year.

Recently  an educator from Mac 1 came and worked with the students and teachers  on using some specific apps for their learning. The students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity and learnt a great deal. The presenter emailed this comment the following day.                                                    " Thank you again so much for inviting MAC1 to run some professional development workshops with your students and for allowing me some time to present some apps to your staff at the meeting. On a personal note, thank you for welcoming me in such a warm and hospitable manner. I found your students to be polite, well behaved, eager and engaged, a great credit to the environment your staff are fostering at St. Michael’s, Belfield. The games and presentations they were able to create in their designated time frames were valuable and worthwhile."
