posted 10 Mar 2018, 23:23 by Sandra Mendonca

If you are willing to volunteer your time as a helper at our school, carnivals or excursions, then it is very important that you attend the Volunteer Induction meeting on Monday 12 March at 2pm-3:00pm.

As a school we take the safety of the children in our care seriously. We are also committed to the safety of our volunteers. To support this Sydney Catholic Schools have a registration process for our volunteers.

All persons wishing to be registered as a volunteer in “child related work” in our school will need to:

a) Complete a Sydney Catholic School Volunteer Application Form, and

b) Attend an induction session about safety issues at the school

c) Gain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) certificate.

We thank you for your support in ensuring a safe learning environment for our students and safe workplace for our volunteers.

They are getting ready for our Annual Athletics Carnival which will be held on Friday 13 April 2018 at Campbell Athletics Field, Princess St, Canterbury NSW 2193. We hope to see family and friends there.

At St Michael's we have an amazing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) programs and initiatives. Our Stage 3 made "Art Vibrabots" which are robots that move to produce art.
St Michael's have just been offered a grant from the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA) for initiatives to be planned for Science Week in August this year. Our grant of $500 will go towards a LEGO Space Activity Pack that will support the purchase of LEGO EV3 Robots to be used with Stage 3 during their FIRST LEGO League Challenge later in the year.
