After 43 years, we farewell Mrs McParland

After 43 years of teaching at St. Joachim's, Mrs Margaret McParland will be retiring at the end of this year. Join us to farewell Mrs McParland on Friday 8 December. 

Family Mass - Sunday 26 November 10am

Our final Family Mass for 2017 will take place at 10 am on Sunday 26 November where we will celebrate the Feast of Christ The King. This will also be a Gift Giving Mass where you may like to donate a Christmas gift to be given to a needy family through our local St Vincent de Paul Conference. First Reconciliation Certificates will be given out at this Mass.
All are welcome!

Early Bird Reading Wednesdays 8:20am

We all know that reading is important for learning. However, developing a love of reading for enjoyment is a valuable lifelong habit that we can encourage by providing opportunities for our children to read and be read to just for fun!

On Wednesday mornings, at 8.20 - 8.40am, the library will be open for students to spend some time reading - bring your own book, or read from  a selection of our library books. Parents would be most welcome to come and read with your child, or to help read with others.

Stage 3 Camp

Our Stage 3 students will be attending a 3 day camp at Milson Island on Wed 25 Oct - Fri 27 Oct. Camp is a wonderful
opportunity for students to further develop their independence, as well as experience new and exciting
adventures that they may not have the opportunity to experience. We look forward to an exciting time away.

Please keep Thursday 3 December free for our Christmas Concert. The teachers have begun preparing the items and the children are working hard to learn songs and movements! We look forward to seeing you then!

End of Year Mass - 11 December

Staff News

During Mrs Chelsea's maternity leave Mr Belcastro will step into the role of Assistant Principal until the end of the school year.

We also wish Mr. Matthews all the best as he commences his Long Service Leave at the end of this week. We welcome back Miss Debra Flannagan who will take on the role of Special Education Teacher for the rest of the year.
