Our School

The Catholic School

St James is part of a school system that operates under the leadership and co-ordination of the Sydney Archdiocesan Sydney Catholic Schools Trust and the Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS). These organisations operate on behalf of the Archdiocese of Sydney.

We believe that people achieve more when they feel happy, secure and valued. Our philosophy is to educate the whole person spiritually, academically, creatively, emotionally and socially; we educate children to be lifelong learners. The diverse needs of our students are met through differentiated learning programs.

“if a child cannot learn in the way we teach, we must teach in a way the child can learn”

Ignacio Estrada

The Archbishop's Charter for Catholic Schools

The Charter assists schools to reflect on and revitalise their understanding of the mission of the Church and how it is lived out in schools.

At St James the Archbishops Charter is fully alive in all we do.
