Religious Education

We believe that through a high quality Religious Education program, celebration of the Sacraments, liturgy and prayer, within a pastoral and supportive environment, children are led to know, understand and appreciate their Catholic faith and Church community so that they are committed to living out Gospel values in their daily lives.

Sacramental Program

St John Bosco Catholic Primary School works closely with our Parish Priest and members of the parish community to support the sacramental program. Children enrol for the reception of each Sacrament, via the parish website, throughout the season of Lent. The Religious Education Curriculum Sacrament units are taught alongside aspects of the program used by the parish catechists. The school provides support with enquiry sessions, focus sessions and ‘Building Family’ evenings, hosted by the Parish Priest. The school organises retreat days for both Confirmation and First Holy Communion for all parish children receiving the Sacraments. Both the school and members of the parish work closely together to plan each of the sacramental liturgies.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is received during Year 2, the Sacrament of Eucharist in Year 3 and the Sacrament of Confirmation in Year 6.

Further information about the Sacraments can be obtained by visiting the St John Bosco Parish website:
