Woolworths Earn and Learn

We are excited to be taking part in the 2017 Woolworths Earn & Learn program.

During the previous campaign, we were able to purchase some great resources with the points we earned, thanks to you. From now until September 19th 2017, you can collect stickers at Wooloworths that go towards Earn & Learn points.

For every $10 you spend at Woolworths (excluding the purchase of tobacco, liquor and gift cards), you will receive a sticker. These stickers can then be given to your children to collect on a special sticker card. Once it is completed, they can simply bring it back here to school.

The more points we earn, the more we can redeem from a choice of over 10,000 educational resources including mathematics and English resources, art & crafts materials and much, much more!

We are grateful for your support and look forward to a successful program. If you have any questions, please ask at School.

Gonski 2.0 Parent Forum

posted 29 May 2017, 16:19 by Krystina Szafraniec

You are invited to attend a very important parent forum being held to discuss some of the serious concerns I have about the long-term funding of our school.

It is no secret that as a Sydney Catholic School community we have been deeply concerned that our Catholic students could be seriously disadvantaged by the Federal Government’s proposed school funding model changes outlined in the 2017/18 Federal Budget.

In particular, our ability to work as a system of Catholic Schools that supports and assists each other is at serious risk.

For this reason, Senior Leaders of Sydney Catholic Schools will be conducting Parent Forums in each Federal electorate of Sydney. The purpose of the forums is to explain the problems and risks of the Governments’ proposed Gonski 2.0 funding model and how this could impact in our school.

As a system of schools, we take very seriously the financial stewardship of the resources we are provided to fund the diverse needs of our students irrespective of their family background, where they live or their financial circumstances.

The funding distribution model we currently use allows funds to be allocated across all our 152 Catholic schools. It also provides for a reasonably consistent low fee cost structure and opportunities for every school community. The new proposed government model will alter this, with the potential for great disparity of fees from one school to another.

I strongly encourage all parents, carers and grandparents to attend this forum to support our school and to voice our concerns to the local members. I am also encouraging our teachers and school staff to attend.

I am confident that ‘people power’ can help to highlight the importance of this issue to the politicians in Canberra and help achieve a fairer and equitable outcome for our schools.

Please also show your support by signing our online petition

We need bipartisan commitment to a fair deal for our Catholic school kids.
