About Us

St Fiacre’s Catholic Primary School is a one stream systemic school for boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6. It was first established by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1886, in the sanctuary of the present church.
Less than ten years later, a separate school building was constructed and so began a long tradition of Catholic Education.

A Brand New School

In 2013 St Fiacre’s undertook a major refurbishment which
has resulted in learning spaces which are warm, bright and inviting. Outside our school reflects its long and proud history of Catholic Education. Inside you will find contemporary, spacious classrooms that are characterised by natural light, colour and texture.
Our school is fully air-conditioned with a welcoming large new library which the children can access throughout the week.

New Playground
With the wonderful support and efforts of our P&F, we embarked on a renovation project to upgrade our playground.  It is now a wonderful space that sparks the imaginations of our children, providing them with various play areas, equipment and a beautiful prayer garden for reflection.

Teaching Programs
Teaching Programs are carefully planned and tailored to meet the diverse needs of all of our children. We also provide a range of specialist programs and services to further meet individual student needs.

Technology in the Classroom

St Fiacre's utilises a range of technologies to support teaching and learning and prepare students to be active and responsible digital citizens.

In 2019, St Fiacre's became a BYODD school (Bring your own designated device) for Stage 2, Year 5 and optional for Year 6. In 2020 this will become Stage 2 - 3. Kindergarten to Year 2 classes are each provided with a bank of iPads. We also have a large bank of iPads in our new Library Learning Centre.

When a student commences at St Fiacre's, the child and a parent/guardian are asked to read and sign the Acceptable Use Policy for Internet and Intranet Access. This policy is reviewed with students at the beginning of each school year so students understand the expectations around using technology at school to support their learning.

Each student has a Google account which gives them access to a range of Google Apps such as Google drive and email. The school uses an internet filter endorsed by Sydney Catholic Schools.
