About Our Library

At St Francis de Sales we aim to encourage a love of reading for learning and pleasure. We hope to enable the children to experience good quality literature and to provide each child with the opportunity to read, to read more and to read more widely. Our Teacher Librarian is Mrs Maureen Aquilina.

Opening Times

The library is open Tuesday and Wednesday. The library is opened at lunchtime both days.

Library Days The children are asked to bring their Library bags on the following days. Tuesday: Year 6, Year 5 and Kinder Wednesday: Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4

Library is part of the school curriculum. It gives the children an opportunity use the procedures of a library that can be transferred into high school and local libraries.

NSW Premier's Reading Challenge

The children in K-2 will have the books read to them by their teacher and the books will be entered for them. The children from Years 3-6 have to read 20 books themselves. The book list for this year may be found on the Premiers Reading Challenge Website. Click on the link to visit the PRC.
