Students of St Francis de Sales

Student Leadership

At St Francis de Sales we aim for the children to understand that we have all been gifted by God and we all have the potential to contribute to the well-being of our country and make a difference in our world.

We are committed to our students learning from our proud Catholic tradition as we live out the motto of ‘Friendship and Service’ with Jesus Christ as our model.

All students will be provided with opportunities to develop leadership abilities through a range of service-oriented and presentation modes. We offer students the chance to explore their potential for personal growth and leadership through working with others, developing teamwork, exploring their interaction and influence within the school and parish community and commitment to valuing and improving the school environment.

Student Representative Council

This comprises of elected representatives from Years K-6 each term.

The council is able to explore ways of raising issues within the school environment and assist staff in raising awareness and celebrating Days of Significance.

The council also actively supports social justice issues and works within the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney by raising both awareness and funds that benefit others.

Leadership Teams

All Year 6 Students are Senior Leaders at St Francis de Sales. They volunteer to work in a nominated area, assisted by a staff member. They undertake and lead action in an area of school life or interest in teams.

  • Liturgy
  • Sport
  • Environment
  • Pastoral Care
  • Media
  • Hospitality

Each team consists of members and a leader. This team leader is elected from Year 6 by the staff and students of Stage 3. The position of leadership team member is one of self-nomination and is available to all students in Year 6. Students will be asked to nominate for the position in Term 4 of the previous year.
