For Parents

Parent Involvement
  • Teachers seek partnerships with parents with regard to student learning. This includes working with small groups of children during class time.
  • At the commencement of each year the Principal runs a “Parents as Partners Course” for those wishing to work in classrooms. This is mandatory.
  • St Charles’ has an active Parent Advisory Council.
  • Communication with parents at St Charles’ is fulfilled through a variety of avenues; a fortnightly school newsletter, the school website, school assemblies, PAC Meetings and through formal and informal interviews.
  • Parents new to St Charles’ attend meetings prior to and after their child’s commencement: namely an enrolment interview, kindergarten orientation night and parent information evening.
  • Guidelines for Parent Participation at St Charles’ set a benchmark for interactions between all members of the school community. These guidelines have been developed collaboratively with parents contributing to its formation.
