St Charles' School and Parish (Mary Immaculate Church, Waverley)

St Charles School enjoys an excellent relationship with the Franciscan Friars who serve the Waverley Parish. St Charles loves the visits from the Priests (complete with secret handshake!) and its community lives out it's faith through class, grade and stage Masses and Liturgies of the Word, both at the School and in our Church. They also have Family Masses on the last Sunday of the month, to build the relationship between the School and our Parish.

Each year a Welcome to New Kindergartens' Mass is held to welcome new families into the parish and school community.

Students from St Charles’ are prepared by the school to receive three Sacraments. Eligible Year 2 students receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Year 3 children are prepared to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time. Year 5 and 6 combine on alternate years to be Confirmed.

The religious life of St Charles’ is nourished by Mary Immaculate Parish and is life giving, reverent and integral to the Mission of the Catholic School.

Our Parish Priest Father Bernie Thomas OFM is a welcome presence in the school and regularly visits the classrooms.
