About Us

St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School was founded in 1999 to serve the parish of St Francis Xavier’s Lurnea as its second primary school to cater for Catholic families in the rapidly developing areas around Prestons in south-west Sydney.

Currently the school has a population of 593 students, spread across three streams from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students are drawn from a wide range of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds with a high percentage of EAL/D students.

There is a significant degree of parental support at St Catherine of Siena School. Parents assist in classrooms, the library, sporting activities and events, excursions, school maintenance, clothing pool, canteen, enrolment and finance committees, and in the promotion of safety issues. An active fundraising committee generously supports the school.
