For Parents

St Brigid’s Primary Catholic School encourages and promotes a positive, supportive partnership between home and school.

As well as 'traditional' avenues of parent involvement e.g. volunteering at the canteen, fundraising etc, there are ways to actively engage with children’s learning. Parents are invited to help in classrooms with activities such as reading, art and craft as well as group work. We also encourage parents to assist on excursions and at sporting events. Getting involved at this level has a positive impact on learning and builds relationships between parents, teachers and children. The involvement of parents within the school is highly valued.

The Child Safe Schools (Child Protection) Volunteer Induction meeting  is held early at the commencement of the school year and all volunteers are required to attend. The meeting clarifies the important role parents play in assisting in children’s learning and explains the Safe Schools expectations for volunteers. Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) Volunteer forms and St. Brigid's Code of Ethics are completed at this meeting.

Before and After School Care

Before and after school care is offered by an independent organisation - the Weldon Centre. This service is located on the premises and parents make arrangements for before and after school care with the organisation.
