Our School

St Brendan's is a systemic Catholic two-stream primary school with approximately 367 students enrolled within the Southern Region of the Archdiocese of Sydney. With our rich, diverse cultural clientele, we work with parents, children and the parish to build our community and nurture the children's faith.

At the the end of September 2019, our total refurbishment building project which began in February 2018 will come to an end. We have gained beautiful large learning spaces with lots of light and up to date technology.

We synthetic and grass and rubber laid on the Northam Ave end of the front playground. The alcove in the corner of the Northam Ave playground has soft fall and a bright all weather sail to create an outdoor learning area called 'Penola Place'. We have recently had landscaping completed on our gardens and have a flourishing Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.

When our refurbishment is completed, we will begin updating our playground, with softfall and synthetic grass.

Community Hub

Our Community Hub has been operating since 2014, currently funded by the Australian Government in partnership with the Scanlan Foundation, Settlement Services International, st Brendan's School and a grant from Bankstown Sports Club. This Hub enhances social inclusion and improves connections to support services by the different levels of government. The Community Hub is one of first 15 to be established in New South Wales, and will connect staff, families and other community organisations in the local government area, based within our school.

We also have a supported playgroup 'Little B's' for babies to school aged children and a transition program for children starting Kindergarten next year. Little B's is facilitated by Parents of our students and all are welcome. THE LITTLE B'S PLAYGROUP IS ON MONDAY TO THURSDAY MORNINGS FROM 8.45 - 10.15am. PLEASE BRING YOUR CHILD BEFORE 9.00am. ON FRIDAY THERE IS A SPECIAL READINESS FOR SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR 4 YEAR OLDS ENROLLED AT ST BRENDAN'S FOR KINDERGARTEN.

Our Community Hub leader is  Celeste Baran. We hope that these services will build community and be a place where young children and their parents can grow relationships and confidence within a school community.

Our students are fortunate to have use of the Council reserve on Cambridge Avenue during school hours, which is a great place for sport lessons and a playing area during morning tea and lunch.
