Parents and Friends

The goal of the Parents & Friends Association is to encourage family members and carers
to actively participate in our school

community. We recognise the value that parents and carers play in the education of their children and we aim to strengthen the partnership between family, school, parish and the wider community.

The parent body at St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School Clovelly is one, which fosters a social and nurturing environment. We therefore truly extend a warm welcome to new and existing families and encourage you to get involved. We often say that we are a small school with a big heart. With this in mind, we do rely on, and are appreciative of, the involvement from families and carers, which in turn provides a positive and enjoyable relationship with the school.

For any questions about our Parents & Friends Association please feel free to make contact with me.

2019 P&F update - coming soon

P&F Meetings

The P&F Association meet once per term. Times and dates are advised in the School Newsletter.

Our Aim is to:

a)  provide a parental perspective to assist the Principal and Staff in decision making
b)  act as a mechanism for representing parents when it is appropriate to do so
c)  raise funds to provide resources and opportunities for enriching the learning environment of the school
d) provide a forum for parents to raise and discuss issues related to the spiritual, social and academic development of their children
e) support parents/carers in their parental responsibilities and involvement in their children’s learning at home and at school
f)  provide opportunities to inform parents of current developments in education generally and Catholic education in particular
g) provide a means of gathering socially for all interested with St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School Clovelly and to promote and foster a cooperative, supportive spirit among parents, teachers and students;
h) provide a means for parents/carers to affiliate with the Federation of P&F Associations of Catholic Schools and have a voice at the Archdiocesan level.

Class Parents

The Parents & Friends Association has established a Class Parent System, which gives parents an opportunity to become more involved in the school community. Classes have two (2) “Class Parents” who agree to take on this responsibility. The Class Parents take on the role of assisting, communicating and organising the parents within their children’s class and they are the point of contact for the P&F Committee (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer & Social Coordinator).

This includes:
a) Welcome new parents and families to the school
b) Arrange updated telephone contact/email lists
c) Assist the P&F Association by recruiting parents to help and participate in P&F functions/events (see below)
d) Assisting with sending out emails and communications to parents promptly and following up responses/RSVPs etc
e) Co-coordinating their main class activity for the year (see below)
f)  Organise a social outing during the year for parents
g) Attend P&F Committee meetings each term (usually Tuesday or Wednesday evening)
