Student Welfare

Our school promotes a healthy, supportive and secure environment for all children. Student welfare is a shared responsibility between home, school and the community. The school has implemented programs to encourage positive social behaviours and problem-solving skills. These programs include Buddies, School-wide Positive Behaviours for Learning, weekly Student Awards and termly Citizenship Awards.

Student Leaders

As important members of the school community, students are valued for the contributions they can make to the school. Leadership potential is encouraged and supported. The Student Representative Council (SRC) is made up of our school captains, vice-captains and elected representatives from Year 6. Examples of their responsibilities include, leading the weekly assembly, delivering special occasion addresses and votes of thanks, and demonstrating school spirit.

Sport Activities

Students at Regina Coeli are given the opportunity to develop skills in a wide variety of sports. Outside specialists deliver programs in areas such as gymnastics, dance, basketball, rugby league, cricket and tennis. As a school in the Archdiocese of Sydney students have the opportunity to take part in selection trials for soccer, netball, basketball, tennis, athletics and swimming. The school has a swimming and an athletic carnival each year.

Debating is a valuable form of expressing a point of view on a specific topic. It involves developing and presenting an argument in a team environment. Debating in a public forum fosters student confidence and co-operation. Each year our Year 5 and 6 students are given the opportunity to take part in the Eastern Region Debating Competition.
