For Parents

Our school values the partnership between home and school, and welcomes the involvement of parents in the life of the school.

Parents may be involved by:

  • Taking an active interest in their child’s learning by attending parent/teacher interviews, parent information sessions and class activities
  • Attending Parent Association meetings once a term
  • Attending assemblies, Masses and other school events
  • Participating as a reading tutor to listen to children read
  • Attending excursions
  • Volunteering to assist at whole school functions such as sports carnivals, Mothers/Fathers Day stalls, Sportathon.
  • Nominating to be a Grade Parent.

Grade Parents Role

The role of Grade Parent is a pastoral one which aims to build a sense of community between parents, teachers and children in their child’s grade.

Each grade will have a Grade Coordinator who attends meetings with the AP/Principal and liaises with the Parent Association and other Grade parents.

Activities Grade Parents can be involved in include:

  • Organising a specific school function for social or fundraising reasons
  • Welcoming new families to the school
  • Farewelling families moving on
  • Arranging a morning tea, a “getting you to know you” function or grade get together
  • Organising help for teachers when required.
