Vision and Mission

Vision

As partners in Catholic education, we at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School strive for excellence in education within a vital

Christian community, where all will encounter Jesus and where life is cherished and celebrated. We will give witness to the Gospel message and hold precious the words of Jesus, “I have come that you may have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

Mission

As people of the heart, we at Our Lady of the Rosary continue the ministry of Jesus through the charism and traditions given to us by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Our mission is built on the pillars of Faith: the dignity of the human person, pursuit of excellence, and love and service.

Pillar One

As people of the heart who are faith filled, we believe in God’s love for us. This gives us meaning and purpose in our lives and enables us to help others find meaning in their lives too.

So we value:

  • the Message of Jesus
  • the Eucharist
  • our Catholic tradition
  • the charism of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
  • other faiths and traditions
  • prayer
  • liturgy
  • reflection.

Pillar Two

As people of the heart who are made in the image of God, we believe in the dignity of every human person. To this end we work towards building community, both locally and globally.

So we value:

  • relationships
  • hospitality and a welcoming spirit
  • inclusion of all
  • generosity and gratitude
  • compassion and forgiveness
  • collaboration and consultation
  • teamwork
  • leadership
  • discernment.

Pillar Three

As people of the heart who pursue excellence we believe in Jesus’ words, “I have come that you may have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

So we value:

  • striving for personal best
  • academic achievement
  • creativity
  • perseverance and resilience
  • critical thinking
  • communication and collaboration
  • problem solving
  • questioning and reflection
  • multimodal skills
  • life long learning.

Pillar Four

As people of the heart who reach out to others, we believe we are called to follow in the footsteps of Jules Chevalier and continue Jesus’ own mission of love and service.

So we value:

  • reconciliation
  • courage
  • hope
  • freedom
  • diversity
  • independent thought
  • global responsibility
  • stewardship of creation
  • service to the poor and disadvantaged
  • leadership that empowers others.
