For Students

OLMC has seven classes from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our students predominately come from the Redfern/Waterloo area. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 are given leadership opportunities to develop their confidence in a range of situations.

Our 'Leadership for Reconciliation' Program has evolved to include all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

This program aims to:

  • Expose the children to the richness of Indigenous Songlines and traditions
  • Strengthen Reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous students
  • Strengthen the educational outcomes for the OLMC children
  • Build the children's self-esteem and confidence.

Each year all of our Year 6 students assume special responsibilities as the senior students in the school. Additionally four students are elected (by their peers) to accept official roles as school leaders.

Student Results

At OLMC we strive to attain the best results possible for our students in their everyday tasks and in national tests such as NAPLAN. There is a co-ordinated whole-staff approach to supporting students with special needs and catering for our Gifted and Talented students. A differentiated classroom program assists teachers in meeting the diverse needs of children.
