From the Principal

My name is Mr. Warren Loy and I am delighted to have been appointed Principal of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Primary School-Mt Pritchard.

I share the leadership of this school with our pastor Fr. Anthony Fregolent pp; Leadership team members: Mr Kieran Gibson - Assistant Principal; Miss Roseanne Caronna-REC,  Co ordinators: Mrs Vita Pittavino; Miss Nicole Vella ; Mrs Peta May Broady. The teaching staff of Our Lady of Mt Carmel plays an integral part in the leadership of our school and have a key role in policy and programme formation and evaluation.

As a school community we are working towards a collaborative model of teaching and learning which then extends to all aspects of our school life.

OLMC has worked on the IDEAS and Early Learning projects since 2008. During these past years, OLMC has been named as showing strong leadership in innovative practices in relation to quality Teaching and Learning, identifying the specific needs of the learner and providing for the child to be challenged. Our school hosts visits from Teachers, Principals and Catholic Education Office staff from all over the Sydney Archdiocese, as well as visits from international guests.

We encourage our students to share in the leadership of the school and they are encouraged to shape and own their learning and to exercise leadership in the day-to-day opportunities to give good example. We believe in and welcome a strong partnership with parents, the parish and wider community to inspire our students to recognize their role in bringing the Face of Jesus Christ into our lives. We work closely with Our Christian Values which permeate into our children's lives. We hope to continue to develop an active relationship with our local regional secondary school: Freeman Catholic College to further confirm a vision for K-12 education in the local community.

I would like to welcome students, staff, parents and visitors to the school home page and hope you read our Vision and Mission Statements, and Annual Development Plan. We hope that continual upgrades to this web site will allow you to share the Mt Pritchard story as it evolves today and in the future. You can be a direct part of this development by giving us feedback and constructive comments via email, fax and phone or in person at school. We look forward to your contribution.

The Sisters of Charity have successfully led and managed our school over a number of years. I am committed to continue their work leading this wonderful school. I feel privileged to be in the role of Principal at this stage in the history of the school. I invite you to browse our website: to gain an insight into what makes Our Lady of Mt Carmel School an alive and dynamic place.
