From the Principal

My name is Mr. Warren Loy and I am delighted to have been appointed Principal of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Primary School, Mt Pritchard.

I share the leadership of this school with our pastor Fr. Anthony Fregolent pp; Leadership team members: Mr Kieran Gibson - Assistant Principal; Miss Roseanne Caronna - Religious Education Coordinator,  Coordinators: Mrs Vita Pittavino; Miss Nicole Vella ; Mrs Peta May Broady. The teaching staff of Our Lady of Mt Carmel plays an integral part in the leadership of our school and have a key role in policy and programme formation and evaluation.

As a school community we value a collaborative model of teaching and learning which extends to all aspects of our school life.

We have recently completed a refurbishment of our Kindergarten, Year One and Year Two classrooms. The new configuration provides for four contemporary separate learning spaces in each grade, which have been designed to meet the needs of our current and future students. The spaces are equipped with the latest technologies and are well resourced to provide the students with relevant, purposeful and engaging learning.

We encourage our students to share in the leadership of the school and they are encouraged to shape and own their learning and to exercise leadership in the day-to-day opportunities to give good example. We believe in and welcome a strong partnership with parents, the parish and wider community to inspire our students to recognize their role in bringing the Face of Jesus Christ into our lives. We work closely with Our Christian Values which permeate into our children's lives.

I would like to welcome students, staff, parents and visitors to the school home page and hope you read our Vision and Mission Statements and our Annual Improvement Plan. We hope that continual upgrades to this web site will allow you to share the Mt Pritchard story as it evolves today and in the future. You can be a direct part of this development by giving us feedback and constructive comments via email, fax and phone or in person at school. We look forward to your contribution.

The Sisters of Charity have successfully led and managed our school over a number of years. I am committed to continue their work leading this wonderful school. I feel privileged to be in the role of Principal at this stage in the history of the school. I invite you to browse our website to gain an insight into what makes Our Lady of Mt Carmel School an alive and dynamic place of learning.
